AI + Recruiting

What AI should — and should not — do in a search

Mike Wolford · March 11, 2026 · 6 min read

AI is very good at reading a market: finding people, organizing evidence, spotting patterns across thousands of careers, and doing it again tomorrow without fatigue.

It is poor at the part of recruiting that decides outcomes. Understanding why someone would leave a role they are good at, or what would make a move feel safe to their family, is human work.

Our rule is simple: AI assists our recruiters. It does not independently decide who gets hired, and it does not talk to candidates on our behalf.
